'81 Haruyasumi Anime Matsuri
“Uwasa no Anime Sôtôjô!”

“'81 Haruyasumi Anime Matsuri Uwasa no Anime Sôtôjô!” ('81 Spring Break Anime Festival All the Anime You're Hearing About!) is a special program that aired on the Fuji TV network from 8pm on Saturday, March 21, 1981.

The program presents the appeal of some anime in a variety show format, focusing on the anime series that were already airing at the time on Fuji TV or were scheduled to start in April 1981. The guest, Tadao Takashima, introduces the highlights of new anime series such as “Dr. Slump Arale-chan”, “Fûsen no Doratarô” and “Shin Taketori Monogatari 1000-nen Joô” (Queen Millennia). In particular, the production process of “Shin Taketori Monogatari 1000-nen Joô” was covered on video with Leiji Matsumoto sharing some stories about the production.

The main features of this special program are “Dr. Slump Arale-chan” and “Shin Taketori Monogatari 1000-nen Joô,” but newly animated scenes were also produced in which Yoshio, a character from the anime series “Ojamanga Yamada-kun”, is moved by watching “Kazoku Robinson Hyôryûki Fushigi na Shima no Flone.” (The Swiss Family Robinson: Flone of the Mysterious Island)
