Story

Tetsurô and the mysterious beauty Maetel set out on a journey into space in search of freedom. The Galaxy Express 999, carrying the two of them, is racing towards the Andromeda Galaxy as usual.

Soon, the 999 comes upon a rainbow planet called Prisonert, illuminated by the seven colors of the seven suns. Tetsurô is moved by its beauty. However, this planet is like a prison, where people are deprived of all freedom, by the “Paradise Law” or “Equality Law” created by the dictator Akogastle.

On this planet, Tetsurô and Maetel meet a girl named Yuma, who dreams of “traveling freely through space in a spaceship she built herself.”

The gravity on the Planet Prisonert is weak due to the seven suns, and the Prisoners who live there are the weakest people in the universe, so they are unable to endure the harsh journey on an interstellar spaceship. Furthermore, for Yuma, who lives in a prison ruled by the “Paradise Law,” pursuing her own dreams is not something she is allowed to do.

Tetsurô feels a weak sense of sympathy for Yuma, who has continued to pursue her dreams despite the circumstances, and Yuma also feels a liking for Tetsurô, as he is the first friend she has made who she can talk to about her dreams with.

However, behind the scenes of the prison, a huge conspiracy is simmering that will shatter even Yuma's modest dreams.

Akogastle has joined forces with the Mechanized Empire and is planning to replace all the inhabitants of this planet with mechanized people.

Her father, Professor Theo, has become Akogastle's aide.

On her fateful 16th birthday, Yuma resolutely resists the “Equality Law”. “Never give up on your dreams!” Yuma's cry reaches Tetsurô!

At that moment, Professor Theo and Maetel…
