Thanks to Captain Bainas's quick thinking and the crew's perseverance, the Baldanos escapes Theseus's pursuit and decides to take a momentary rest. Sam tells Maya, who has barely survived, about his plan to defeat Ozma.

However, Maya reveals to Sam that she herself is pursuing Ozma and has no intention of defeating it. She leaves the Baldanos without informing the crew. When Sam notices Maya's absence, he immediately boards the Fulkfish to bring her back.

But Theseus stands in Sam's way.
