The 11th planet base at the outermost edge of the solar system is under attack by the Nazca reconnaissance fleet of the comet empire. The Yamato, rushing to their aid, destroys the enemy battle fleet with its main gun, which has been modified to double its firing range. The Cosmo Tiger squadron rescues the space cavalry unit that is in danger from the enemy's deployed armored car unit. The Yamato takes in about 20 survivors, including unit commander Hajime Saitō.
