Summary
On Earth, Dr. Kuroda's attempt to cool the sun by repurposing the solar energy relay system fails. Upon arriving at Bernard Star's first planet, the source of the missiles, the Yamato can't locate the enemy base. Six members from the combat and life support teams land in a Cosmo Hound to investigate an unknown transmission. After being attacked by ray guns and following shadowy figures, Kodai and his team encounter a family of three settlers led by Elder Yamagami, who refuses contact with the outside world…
